چکیده
Introduction: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic, idiopathic, relapsing, inflammatory of the gastrointestinal system, which includes two different diseases, namely ulcerative colitis (UC), and Crohn's (CD). Inner ear involvement IBD, causes sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) acute bilateral arises in short period weeks to months active disease.
Methods: The present study included 53 IBD patients 20 healthy control who were followed up gastroenterology outpatient clinic Abant Izzet Baysal University Hospital between January May 2020 accepted participate study. Tympanometry, otoscopy, audiometry examinations performed.
Results: There was no significant difference terms gender age groups. While there air bone conduction both ears with CD, conductions UC (p: 0.0001 left ear, p: 0.004 right ear). SNHL detected 45.2% (n:14) 13.6% (n:3) CD audiometry. Three our had moderate, one moderately severe, profound loss.
Conclusion: has been number patients. Also, functions deteriorate significantly as duration increases. It should be recommended evaluate over 40 years long-term for SNHL.

Risk Factors for Sensorineural Hearing Loss in Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia
Introduction: Hyperbilirubinemia is a common neonatal problem with toxic effects on the nervous system that can cause hearing impairment. This study was conducted to assess the risk factors for sensorineural hearing loss and other coexisting problems in icteric infants. Materials and Methods: In a case-control study, 200 term infants with bilirubin levels higher than 20 mg/dl admitted to the...

This is a male 23-year-old patient presenting with right tinnitus, ipsilateral hypoacusis and dizziness following three months of diarrhea and weight loss. The patient was taking deflazacort and budesonide, which improved his intestinal, hearing and postural symptoms, but not the tinnitus. Initial audiometry revealed mild right sensorineural dysacusis. Laboratory exams included a positive ANF, ...
متن کاملIs undernutrition a risk factor for sensorineural hearing loss in early infancy?
The present cross-sectional study set out to determine the nutritional status of infants aged 0-3 months with the WHO Multicentre Growth Reference (WHO-MGR) and examine the relationship between undernutrition and congenital or early-onset sensorineural hearing loss (CESHL) rarely reported for developing countries. The nutritional status of all infants attending community-based clinics for routi...
متن کاملPseudoexfoliation Syndrome and Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Introduction: Pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PXS) occurs due to the deposition of extracellular fibrillar materials on the anterior chamber of the eye. This syndrome has been considered to be part of a systemic disease with the potential involvement of the inner ear called sensoroneural hearing loss (SNHL). In this study, we aimed on evaluating SNHL within PXS patients in Iran to compare them wi...
متن کاملStudying VEMP in Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Introduction: Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) has a prevalence of 10 in 100,000. Viral infections, vascular obstruction and rupture of the intracochlear membranes are supposed to be its most common etiologies. About 40% of patients experience vertigo or imbalance. The VEMP (vestibular evoked myogenic potentials) test is a known approach for detailed study of the labyrinth. The advant...
